Before or after breakfast, transfer to the most holiest temple of Pashupatinath, a form of lord Shiva, the majestic temple with golden roof. It is considered as being amongst the most sacred and important Hindu pilgrim center. Located at the bank of the Bagmati River, perform puja in the temple or make short visit of it depending on your interest. Here as being the holiest places of Kathmandu and existed the Pashupati Ghat and many would like to be cremated in such sacred place, so while visiting the Temple and around one can witness also cremations are taking place outside the temple premises at the bank of the river. The temple was classified as a World Heritage Site in 1979.
Later visit Bouddhanath Stupa This colossal stupa is one of the biggest in the world and also serves as the center of Tibetan Buddhism where you can witness the Tibetans settlement circling the Stupa. It is said that it entombs the remains of Kasyapa Buddha and symbolizes the three-dimensional reminder of Buddha's path towards enlightenment. It is also believed as a gateway for heaven serving as a horizon between the earth and Sky.
Afternoon sightseeing tour of Kathmandu City and Swyambhunath Stupa; visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, with its old temples and palaces, epitomizes the religious and cultural life of the people. Here, the kings of Nepal are crowned and solemnized. Interesting thingsfor visitors to see are Taleju temple, gigantic figure of Kalbhairav (the god of destruction), Basantapur Durbar, and Temple of Kumari (Living Goddess)
Later, to Swayambhunath stupa or also known as the ‘Monkey Temple’, the world’s most glorious Buddhist Stupa of over 2,000 years standing on a hillock at a majestic height of 77m.It is a pilgrimage site for Hindus, Vajrayana Buddhists and Newari Buddhists. The complex of Swyambhunath Stupa is surrounded by the many other Hindu & Buddhist shrines. This site also commands an excellent view of the Kathmandu Valley.
